Saurabh Sinha received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Washington, Seattle, in 2002, and after post-doctoral work at the Rockefeller University with Eric Siggia, he joined the faculty of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in 2005, where he held the positions of Founder Professor in Computer Science and Director of Computational Genomics in the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology until 2022. He joined Georgia Institute of Technology in 2022, as Wallace H. Coulter Distinguished Chair in Biomedical Engineering, with joint appointments in Biomedical Engineering and Industrial & Systems Engineering. Sinha’s research is in the area of bioinformatics, with a focus on regulatory genomics and systems biology. Sinha is an NSF CAREER award recipient and has been funded by NIH, NSF and USDA. He co-directed an NIH BD2K Center of Excellence and was a thrust lead in the NSF AI Institute at UIUC. He led the educational program of the Mayo Clinic-University of Illinois Alliance, and co-led data science education for the Carle Illinois College of Medicine. Sinha has served as Program co-Chair of the annual RECOMB Regulatory and Systems Genomics conference and served on the Board of Directors for the International Society for Computational Biology (2018-2021). He was a recipient of the University Scholar award of the University of Illinois, and selected as a Fellow of the AIMBE in 2018.

Vince Calhoun, Ph.D., is the founding director of the tri-institutional Center for Translational Research in Neuroimaging and Data Science (TReNDS) where he holds appointments at Georgia State, Georgia Tech and Emory. He is the author of more than 900 full journal articles. His work includes the development of flexible methods to analyze neuroimaging data including blind source separation, deep learning, multimodal fusion and genomics, neuroinformatics tools. Calhoun is a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, The American Association for the Advancement of Science, The American Institute of Biomedical and Medical Engineers, The American College of Neuropsychopharmacology, The Organization for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM) and the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. He currently serves on the IEEE BISP Technical Committee and is also a member of IEEE Data Science Initiative Steering Committee as well as the IEEE Brain Technical Committee.

Ada Gavrilovska is an Associate Professor at the College of Computing and a researcher with the Center for Experimental Research in Computer Systems (CERCS) at Georgia Tech. Her interests include experimental systems, focusing on operating systems, virtualization, and systems software for heterogeneous many-core platforms, emerging non-volatile memories, large scale datacenter and cloud systems, high-performance communication technologies and support for novel end-user devices and services. Her research is supported by the National Science Foundation, the US Department of Energy, and industry grants, including from Cisco, HP, IBM, Intel, Intercontinental Exchange, LexisNexis, VMware, and others. She has published numerous book chapters, journal and conference publications, and edited a book “High Performance Communications: A Vertical Approach” (CRC Press, 2009). In addition to research, she also teaches courses on operating systems and high performance communications. She has a Bachelor's  in Computer Engineering from University Sts. Cyril and Methodius in Macedonia ('98), and a Master's ('99) and Ph.D. ('04) degrees in Computer Science from Georgia Tech.

Richard Fujimoto

Richard Fujimoto is a Regents’ Professor, Emeritus in the School of Computational Science and Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He received the Ph.D. degree from the University of California-Berkeley in 1983 in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. He also received an M.S. degree from the same institution as well as two B.S. degrees from the University of Illinois-Urbana. 

Fujimoto is a pioneer in the parallel and distributed discrete event simulation field. Discrete event simulation is widely used in areas such as telecommunications, transportation, manufacturing, and defense, among others. His work developed fundamental understandings of synchronization algorithms that are needed to ensure the correct execution of discrete event simulation programs on high performance computing (HPC) platforms. His team developed many new algorithms and computational techniques to accelerate the execution of discrete event simulations and developed software realizations that impacted several application domains. For example, his Georgia Tech Time Warp software was deployed by MITRE Corp. to create online fast-time simulations of commercial air traffic to help reduce delays in the U.S. National Airspace. An active researcher in this field since 1985, he authored or co-authored three books and hundreds of technical papers including seven that were cited for “best paper” awards or other recognitions. His research included several projects with Georgia Tech faculty in telecommunications, transportation, sustainability, and materials leading to numerous publications co-authored with faculty across campus.

Xiaoming Huo is an A. Russell Chandler III Professor in the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech. Dr. Huo's research interests include statistical theory, statistical computing, and issues related to data analytics. He has made numerous contributions on topics such as sparse representation, wavelets, and statistical problems in detectability. His papers appeared in top journals, and some of them are highly cited. He is a senior member of IEEE since May 2004.

Siva Theja Maguluri

Siva is Fouts Family Early Career Professor and an Assistant Professor in the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial & Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech.

Before joining Georgia Tech, he spent two years in the Stochastic Processes and Optimization group, which is part of the Mathematical Sciences Department at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center. He received my Ph.D. in ECE from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2014 and was advised by Prof R. Srikant. Before that, he received an MS in ECE from UIUC, which was advised by Prof R. Srikant and Prof. Bruce Hajek. Maguluri also hold an MS in Applied Maths from UIUC. He obtained my B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

Maguluri received the NSF CAREER award in 2021, 2017 Best Publication in Applied Probability Award from INFORMS Applied Probability Society, and the second prize in 2020 INFORMS JFIG best paper competition. Joint work with his students received the Stephen S. Lavenberg Best Student Paper Award at IFIP Performance 2021. As a recognition of his teaching efforts, Siva received the Student Recognition of Excellence in Teaching: Class of 1934 CIOS Award in 2020 for ISyE 6761 and the CTL/BP Junior Faculty Teaching Excellence Award, also in 2020, both presented by the Center for Teaching and Learning at Georgia Tech.

Ling Liu

Ling Liu is a Professor in the School of Computer Science at Georgia Institute of Technology. She directs the research programs in Distributed Data Intensive Systems Lab (DiSL), examining various aspects of large scale big data systems and analytics, including performance, availability, security, privacy and trust. Prof. Liu is an elected IEEE Fellow and a recipient of IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award (2012). She has published over 300 international journal and conference articles and is a recipient of the best paper award from numerous top venues, including ICDCS, WWW, IEEE Cloud, IEEE ICWS, ACM/IEEE CCGrid. In addition to serve as general chair and PC chairs of numerous IEEE and ACM conferences in big data, distributed computing, cloud computing, data engineering, very large databases fields, Prof. Liu served as the editor in chief of IEEE Transactions on Service Computing (2013-2016), on editorial board of over a dozen international journals. Ling’s current research is sponsored primarily by NSF and IBM.

Dr. Duke has led over $21 million in funded research for industry, government, and foundation partners. Dr. Duke’s research focuses on advancing techniques for identifying patients of interest from diverse data sources with applications spanning research, quality, and clinical domains. He led the Merck-Regenstrief Partnership in Healthcare Innovation and was a founding member of OHDSI, an open-source international health data analytics collaborative. In addition to numerous peer-reviewed publications, his work has been featured in the lay media including the New York Times, NPR, and MSNBC. Dr. Duke completed his medical degree at Harvard Medical School and a master's in human-computer interaction at Indiana University.

Haesun Park

Dr. Haesun Park is a Regents' Professor and Chair in the School of Computational Science and Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. She was elected as a SIAM Fellow in 2013 and IEEE Fellow in 2016 for her outstanding contributions in numerical computing, data analysis, and visual analytics. She was the Executive Director of Center for Data Analytics 2013-2015 and was the director of the NSF/DHS FODAVA-Lead (Foundations of Data and Visual Analytics) Center 2008-2014. She has published extensively in the areas of numerical computing, large-scale data analysis, visual analytics, text mining, and parallel computing. She was the conference co-chair for SIAM International Conference on Data Mining in 2008 and 2009 and an editorial board member of the leading journals in computational science and engineering such as IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications, and SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing. She was the plenary keynote speaker at major international conferences including SIAM Conference on Applied Linear Algebra in 1997 and 2015, and SIAM International Conference on Data Mining in 2011. Before joining Georgia Tech, she was a professor in Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities 1987- 2005 and a program director in the Computing and Communication Foundations Division at the National Science Foundation, Arlington, VA, U.S.A., 2003 - 2005. She received a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Computer Science from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY in 1987 and 1985, respectively, and a B.S. in Mathematics from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea in 1981 with the Presidential Medal for the top graduate.
